CIM Group is proposing a 34-story apartment tower on the site of the old Cemex Hollywood Concrete Plant, as reported by Urbanize Los Angeles. If approved, this development would become West Hollywood’s tallest building. Known as 1000 La Brea, it calls for clearing the Cemex site and replacing it with 514 apartments on its upper floors; 25% of which would be designated affordable housing. At street level there will be approximately 30,000 square feet dedicated to a grocery store.
Urbanize LA reported that public meetings in conjunction with its environmental review process are set to begin this summer and hearings before West Hollywood Planning Commission and City Council are expected in early 2024 following an initial community meeting earlier this month providing insight into CIM’s plans for the project.
