### Former Duke Energy HQ Transforming into Apartments
MRP Realty, Asana Partners, and the Rockefeller Group have announced their first joint venture, marking the finalization of funding for the Brooklyn & Church redevelopment project in Charlotte. The partnership has secured construction financing for the transformation of the former Duke Energy headquarters at 526 S. Church Street. Once completed, the project will feature 460 apartments and 57,000 square feet of retail space.
As Charlotte’s first office-to-mixed-use conversion, the 800,000-square-foot building will be reimagined to accommodate loft-style apartments, a ground-floor retail area, and a new three-story, 30,000-square-foot retail building at the intersection of Church Street and Brooklyn Village Avenue.
Brooklyn & Church will rise 13 stories, offering modern industrial loft-style living spaces with balconies. While preserving the building’s core and shell, the redevelopment will fully reskin the façade with new glass windows and spacious balconies, giving the structure a contemporary aesthetic.
