### Puget Sound Ranks No. 9 in Largest 100 Office Leases in 2024
A new report has ranked Puget Sound ninth among the top markets with the largest office leases in 2024. The Seattle area tied with five other markets for the ninth spot.
Puget Sound recorded three major office leases totaling 890,816 square feet. In each instance, a tech company signed the lease to expand its footprint. The region secured three of the largest U.S. office leases of the year, with tech companies driving leasing momentum amid the rise of artificial intelligence. In total, tech firms committed to 2.8 million square feet of office space in the Seattle area, more than triple the next highest sector, financial services.
“Leasing by the tech industry returned in earnest last year with the growth of artificial intelligence, which we expect to gain more momentum this year,” said John R. Miller, executive managing director for the Pacific Northwest and market leader for the greater Seattle region at CBRE. “Tech is at the start of a new growth cycle, and strong leasing activity from the sector is key to the recovery of the office market.”
