Avison Young has successfully arranged a lease for approximately 20,000 square feet of industrial space at 900 West Cermak Road. The lease, spread across two units, has been secured by Bento, Inc., a subsidiary of Wonderfield Group, on behalf of a private, local owner.
The units were previously occupied by Foxtrot, which had extensively renovated the facility for use as a commissary kitchen. The property owner, 900 C LLC, was represented by Avison Young Principal Steven Kohn, SIOR, and Senior Vice President Jay Maher. Newmark represented the tenant, Bento, Inc.
“We are excited to welcome a high-caliber international company such as Bento, Inc. to the Pilsen East community,” said John Podmajersky III, Principal of 900 C LLC. Bento, a Toronto-based company, is a leading provider of sushi across North America, operating nine commissaries that serve more than 2,500 stores.
In addition to the existing infrastructure, Bento was drawn to this location due to its proximity to downtown Chicago, its access to an extensive network of interstate highways, public transportation, and the availability of a strong workforce. “There are two more units in the building, a standalone building across the street, and land available for future development,” noted Kohn.
