"Green Light Given for Pepper Square Redesign"

Pepper Square shopping center, originally built in the late 1970s in North Dallas, is looking to revamp its image. Developer Henry S. Miller has proposed a mixed-use development plan that would include apartments and retail space, as well as potentially adding a 12-story high-rise building. The Dallas City Council is set to vote on a zoning change later this month that would allow for this project.

According to the Dallas Business Journal, at a recent Planning and Zoning meeting where the project was unanimously approved, some residents expressed concerns about increased traffic. However, an independent traffic study sponsored by the developer found that this redevelopment would actually generate half as many trips compared to if all current retail spaces were fully leased.
