R.D. Olson Construction has commenced work on Kettner Crossing, a 64-unit senior housing complex in San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood. Expected to reach completion by early 2025, the 73,400-square-foot project will provide low-income seniors earning 30% to 60% of area median income with affordable housing options close to local amenities such as shops, parks and public transportation. AVRP Studios is the architect for this eight story urban infill project located at 1590 Kettner Blvd., which was previously an undeveloped lot.
“Kettner Crossing is a perfect fit for bringing affordable senior housing into San Diego’s Little Italy,” said Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D Olson Construction “Older residents will have easy access to all that this vibrant neighborhood has to offer.” This marks the third partnership between R D Olson and nonprofit developer Bridge Housing following Heritage Square in Pasadena and Anaheim & Walnut in Long Beach projects completed earlier .
