"Florida Store Closures Announced by Macy's"

ConnectCRE recently reported on the purchase and planned repurposing of a Macy’s store in Tampa. In addition to this location, Macy’s has confirmed the closure of 66 non-go-forward stores, including seven in Florida. These closures are part of their Bold New Chapter strategy, which was announced in February 2024 with the goal of returning the company to sustainable and profitable sales growth.

Under this plan, approximately 150 underperforming stores will be closed over a three-year period while investments are made into their remaining 350 go-forward locations through fiscal year 2026. Along with Tampa, other Florida cities affected by these closures include Boynton Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines,Miami, and Sarasota.

Macy’s is confident that these changes will position them well for success going forward and allow them to provide an enhanced customer experience both in-store and online nationwide. Customers can find more information about local go-forward stores on macys.com through their Customer FAQ section or Store Locator tool.
