Liberty Hill, a growing town located 30 minutes north of Austin, is set to welcome one of Costco’s signature warehouses. This news is generally seen as positive for most towns, as the company typically hires over 300 employees and occupies an average space of 150,000 square feet.
The town recently granted a permit for the construction of a new Costco Wholesale warehouse and fuel center at the site on N US 183. The site also includes plans for a Target store which will begin construction in January 2025 and potentially open in May 2026.
This location would mark the seventh Costco warehouse in the Austin area alone. With over six hundred stores across the U.S., this membership-based retailer reported net earnings exceeding $60 billion during fiscal year 2024.
Overall, Liberty Hill’s addition to its retail landscape with this new development marks another milestone in its rapid growth since doubling its population since last year to now exceed ten thousand residents.
