Donate to DC: Grosvenor Offers Pop-up Bookstore Retail Space

Grosvenor, a property owner and developer, has donated a retail unit in Washington D.C. to Turning the Page – a regional non-profit organization – for use as a pop-up bookstore. The Friendship Heights Alliance facilitated the short-term lease which allows the pop-up bookstore to operate from May 5th through June 4th at 5211 Wisconsin Avenue NW.

Turning the Page engages parents in their children’s education and provides educational resources with proceeds from book sales going towards funding its programs such as selling donated used books, CDs, DVDs and vinyl records. Khash Bayani of Grosvenor’s D.C office commented on this partnership: “The pop up bookstore will not only activate our building and surrounding neighborhood but also raise needed dollars for Turning The Pages’ critical programs.” This is not Grosvenor’s first donation of retail space; they have previously contributed similar spaces in San Francisco for local non profits too!
