Ashburn Data Center Sold by Harrison Street and PowerHouse Data Centers

A powered shell data center in Ashburn, Virginia has been sold by the joint venture of Harrison Street and PowerHouse Data Centers. The ABX-1 facility spans 265,580 square feet and boasts a power capacity of 60 MW.

This successful sale marks the first development completed by the partnership between PowerHouse and Harrison Street, which was launched in January 2022. With a commitment of $3.2 billion, this joint venture plans to develop nearly 6 million square feet of powered shell data centers in Northern Virginia, Dallas and Reno.

ABX-1 was fully leased to CyrusOne prior to its final completion date in October 2023. According to Michael Hochanadel, Managing Director and Head of Digital Assets for Harrison Street: “This project is a testament to the strength of Northern Virginia’s data center market – consistently ranked as one nation’s fastest-growing markets over the past five years.” He also expressed excitement about expanding their portfolio across other strategic U.S. markets where there is high demand for robust digital infrastructure.
