"12 Acre Mixed-Use Project: Former Schlumberger Plant Transformed by Developers"

Market Square Cos. and Tenon Property Co. have announced plans to redevelop a former Schlumberger campus in Houston into a dynamic mixed-use project called Ashford Yard. The 12.7-acre district, located at the intersection of South Dairy Ashford Road and Briar Forest Drive, will feature 90,000 square feet of retail space, restaurants, entertainment options, office space and 350 apartments.

The two companies have joined forces to bring this project to life by acquiring the Schlumberger site as well as an adjacent shopping center in early 2023. Currently on the site are a vacant office building spanning over 155,000 square feet and another building covering approximately 12,000 square feet that were both vacated by Schlumberger Ltd during the Covid pandemic.

According to reports from Houston Business Journal , construction on the $25 million retail portion is expected to commence in late next year’s fourth quarter with completion slated for second quarter of 2026 when tenants can start occupying their spaces.

Nelsen Partners , an Austin-based architecture firm has been selected as lead design firm for this ambitious redevelopment project while no contractor has been chosen yet.
