The NEST Center, a revitalization project of the former Merck global headquarters in Kenilworth, NJ, has announced its first academic partner: New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The university will establish the NJIT @ NEST Center for Translational Research on the 100-acre campus.
According to John Saraceno, co-founder and managing principal of Onyx Equities which is leading the redevelopment project, having an academic institution like NJIT as a partner is crucial for creating an ecosystem between private and public sectors. This partnership will also benefit both healthcare and humanity.
This announcement comes after CoreWeave’s decision to establish an AI co-location data center at one building on the NEST campus and Revlon’s relocation of its Science and Innovation Lab to another building. These moves align with NJIT’s focus on machine learning, computer vision,natural language processing,and robotics.
