A mixed-use project in Plantation is moving forward, as developers Related Group and BH Group have received approval from the town’s city council. The project, known as Plantation City Center, will span 13.7 acres at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd., replacing a former AT&T training center that previously occupied the site.
According to reports from the South Florida Business Journal, the development plan includes 512 residential units and 24,970 square feet of commercial space with ample parking for residents and visitors totaling up to 833 spaces. In total, Plantation City Center will encompass over 860,000 square feet of space including an eight-story apartment building along with five three-story multifamily buildings.
The developers have also committed to providing workforce housing options by allocating at least fifty-one units for individuals earning up to one hundred twenty percent of the area’s median income.
In addition to its prime location and diverse housing options for residents of varying incomes levels, the development plans include impressive amenities such as two pools,a pickleball court, and a playground spread out across approximately twenty-three thousand square feet both indoors in lobby areas, and outdoors on-site throughout various recreational facilities within this expansive community setting designed by Miami-based Arquitectonica firm which has been commissioned specifically for this project.
Related Group joined forces with BH Group when they acquired ownership rights over this property back in late-2023 after paying $13 million dollars towards securing their stake here. This joint venture between these two prominent real estate groups has now paved way towards making their vision come alive through what promises be an exciting new chapter unfolding soon enough within our local landscape!
