The joint venture between Related Group and BH Group has received approval to move forward with their mixed-use development in Plantation, according to the South Florida Business Journal. The project, known as Plantation City Center, will cover 13.7 acres at 8601 W. Sunrise Blvd., replacing a former AT&T training center that spanned over 130,550 square feet (see photo). The city council of Plantation has given the green light for this plan which includes 512 residential units, approximately 25,000 square feet of commercial space and a total of 833 parking spaces.
In total, the project will encompass over 860 thousand square feet and feature an eight-story apartment building along with five three-story multifamily buildings. Additionally there will be two standalone retail buildings and a row of two-story townhouses included in the development.
As part of their commitment to providing affordable housing options within the community they are developing in ,the joint venture plans on including workforce housing for individuals earning up to120%ofthe area’s median income – totaling51unitsin all.
Plantation City Center is also set to offer residents an impressive arrayofamenitiesincludingover23thousandsquarefeetoflobbyandinterior amenities such as pools,pickleball courts,and playgrounds outdoors.The developers have acquired this property for $13 million back in2023and have enlisted Miami-based Arquitectonicaasdesignersforthisproject.
