"Development of One-Time Plano EDS Headquarters Unfolding"

NexPoint, a leading company in the biotech industry, is spearheading the $4 billion Texas Research Quarter project on the former site of EDS headquarters. According to reports from Dallas Business Journal, this ambitious project aims to attract researchers in gene and cell therapy by offering state-of-the-art lab and manufacturing spaces. Additionally, it will provide facilities and amenities for biotech and pharmaceutical companies at all stages of development. The development will be carried out in phases with the ultimate goal of creating a thriving life sciences district.

Once completed, this 91-acre biomedical research campus is expected to bring around 1,000 jobs to Plano. Construction is set to begin in early 2025 with phase one scheduled for completion by mid-2026.

The first phase will focus on developing the southern part of the campus which includes a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing building as well as upgrades to nearby parking garages and central utility plants for future developments. Plans also include four additional manufacturing buildings spanning over 400 square feet each on the main campus area.

Overall plans are taking shape for what was once known as Plano’s EDS headquarters location.
