RXR has encountered a setback on its initial project within the expansive 1,100-acre Veridea mixed-use community in Apex. The first phase of this development will consist of approximately 1,500 multifamily units, 1,100 single-family homes and townhomes built by Lennar Homebuilders. Additionally, there will be around 150,000 square feet of retail and dining options as well as commercial space totaling to about 213,000 square feet. Wake Tech Community College is also set to establish a new campus spanning over an impressive area of approximately340 ,000 square feet.
This ambitious project is expected to generate more than2 ,300 jobs annually for the town of Apex during its decade-long construction period. Samet Corporation has already commenced work on Phase I which involves significant clearing and preparation work for infrastructure.
Veridea’s location is just two miles away from historic downtown Apex making it easily accessible for residents once completed. The ultimate vision for this mixed-use development includes up to8 ,000 residential units along with3 .5 million square feet dedicated towards retail spaces,hospitality services,and civic amenities.Additionally,it aims at providing up to12 million square feet worthof commercial spaces,a new elementary school under Wake County Public School System,and another branch campus under Wake Technical Community College.
