RXR has encountered a setback on its inaugural project within the expansive 1,100-acre Veridea mixed-use community in Apex. The first phase of Veridea will consist of around 1,500 multifamily units and 1,100 single-family homes and townhomes built by Lennar Homebuilders. Additionally, there will be approximately 150,000 square feet of retail space for shops and restaurants as well as commercial space spanning over an area of about 213,000 square feet. Furthermore,a new campus spanning an impressive area of about340 ,000 square feet is being constructed for Wake Tech Community College.
The development is expected to generate more than2 ,300 jobs annually in Apex during the next decade as it progresses towards completion.Samet Corporation has commenced construction on Phase Iof this ambitious $3 billion project with significant work being done to clear land and establish necessary infrastructure.
Veridea enjoys a prime location just two miles south from historic downtown Apex.Once completed,the mixed-use community aims to offer up to8 ,000 residential units along with up to3 .5 million square feet dedicated towards retail,hospitality,and civic spaces.Additionally,it plans on providing up totwelve million square feet for commercial use including a brand-new elementary school under Wake County Public School System’s jurisdiction.Finally,this thriving development also includes the newest campus set aside exclusively for Wake Technical Community College.
