McKinney is making strides in its efforts to revitalize the downtown area with a new redevelopment initiative. This project, led by M2G Ventures as the town’s development partner, will bring in new offices, restaurants, a hotel and event space.
According to a report from Community Impact , city staff are currently working on negotiating terms with M2G for the redevelopment of city-owned land downtown. The plan includes constructing new buildings on five city blocks:
– A mixed-use block that will feature commercial developments such as restaurants and offices up to five stories tall
– A six-story hotel that will also include event and commercial space
– A five-story multifamily building with an integrated parking garage
– A public parking garage adjacent to downtown with 250 spaces
M2G Ventures has already acquired over 4.5 million square feet of property since its establishment. Their portfolio ranges from adaptive reuse projects and mid-century warehouses to complete building transformations and redevelopments of historic structures.
With this exciting development program underway, McKinney is sure to see significant growth in its vibrant downtown area.
