Construction is underway for the Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, located at the northeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway. The first structure to take shape will be a 300-room hotel, with plans for additional attractions such as rides, shows, restaurants and shops.
According to reports from the Dallas Business Journal and Orlando Park Shop, contractors have also laid foundations for a potential SpongeBob SquarePants-themed building and dug trenches for a water ride. They have also paved a new six-lane road connecting Dallas Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway.
The resort is expected to open in 2026, just in time for the FIFA World Cup which will bring large crowds to Arlington’s AT&T Stadium. This location will host more games than any other site during this global soccer tournament – nine matches total including five group stage games.
The project is part of Fields West development which spans over 4 million square feet of office space, apartments, retail options as well as dining and entertainment venues.
