According to Urbanize Atlanta, the proposed Lotus Grove district is making progress towards its development goals. The project, spearheaded by Insignia based in Atlanta, is expected to begin vertical construction in summer 2025 with a budget of over $300 million. Plans include low-rise retail and restaurants as well as a 12-story multifamily tower with 456 apartment units and various amenities. Resia will be leading the construction of the apartment complex.
The location for this project is at 5597 Buford Highway just outside Interstate 285 Loop, previously occupied by a Kmart that has since been demolished.
Lotus Grove’s retail and residential components are projected to be completed by sometime in 2027.
In addition to these developments, Lotus Grove will also feature two more residential towers standing at twelve stories each (totaling up to780 units) within approximately one million square feet of new construction. Other features planned for this district include a national hotel and public park designed for hosting events.
