"Atlanta-Area Data Center with 1.3M Square Feet Attracting Interest from Stream"

Stream Data Centers has submitted a proposal for a new data center project near Douglasville to the Georgia planning agency. The development would consist of nine buildings, each spanning 150,000 square feet, totaling 1.3 million square feet under roof. The company is considering land located off Polk Road, approximately four miles west of Douglasville. This town is conveniently situated just half an hour’s drive from Atlanta.

The proposed project will have significant power requirements and according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, it is estimated that data centers will consume about 83% of Georgia Power’s electricity generation in the next twelve years.

Google has already shown interest in this region by investing over $1.2 billion in Douglas County.

Stream Data Centers (a subsidiary of Stream Realty Partners) currently operates projects across various markets including Chicago, Dallas, Houston Phoenix and San Antonio. They are now looking at developing a site covering 246 acres on the western outskirts of Atlanta which could be completed within two years’ time.
