Winn Celebrates Opening of 55+ Housing at Ludlow Mill Building

WinnCompanies and Westmass Area Development Corporation have officially opened The Residences at Mill 8 in Ludlow, MA. This mixed-income community offers 95 apartments for adults aged 55 and older. The project, which cost $43.2 million, involved converting a section of the historic mill building into housing while also restoring the iconic clock tower that has been featured on the town’s seal since 1919.

According to WinnDevelopment president and managing partner Larry Curtis, this project serves as proof of the necessity for developments like this one. He stated that seeing people move into this beautifully restored building during their ribbon-cutting ceremony is evidence enough of its importance. Despite facing challenges such as rising financing and construction costs due to the pandemic, Curtis expressed his gratitude towards their public and private partners who believed in their vision for this community.

The Residences at Mill 8 offers a variety of income-based options to cater to different households’ needs. As a result, all units have already been leased out with full occupancy expected by December 1st.
