Lauderhill Mall to Add Apartments: A New Residential Development

The latest trend sweeping the nation involves mall owners finding creative ways to increase foot traffic. One such example is the Lauderhill Mall, located at 1267 N.W. 40th Ave, where the City Commission is considering a special exception for mixed-use development in its general commercial district.

Owned by IMC Equity Group since its purchase in 2012 for $17.8 million, plans are underway to transform unused space into a mixed-use project featuring 233 apartments and over 14,000 square feet of commercial space. The proposed five-story building will include ground-floor commercial units and a total of 56 apartments while an eight-story building will house a clubhouse and additional amenities along with another set of residential units totaling up to122 one- or two-bedroom apartments. A third five-story building will complete the project with an additional55 apartment units.

Urban Design based out of North Miami has been selected as the architect for this exciting new venture which aims to revitalize this established mall built back in1966.Tenants currently occupying spaces within Lauderhill Mall include popular brands like AutoZone, Subway,Foot Locker,and Dunkin among others including Goodwilland Fresco y Mas.
