A new mixed-use development is in the works for Plano’s Legacy Business Park, covering 107 acres of land. The project, which includes the former JCPenney headquarters building (seen in photo), has been proposed by Capital Commercial Investments and recently gained approval from the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission. The City Council will vote on it next month.
The development will feature more than 700 residential units, with two towers being developed by Streetlights Residential. This residential portion of the project will be split into two phases, each with up to 365 units and including open spaces or a water feature.
In addition to housing, there are plans for a hotel with 225 rooms and approximately 400,000 square feet of office space. Capital Commercial has already invested $30 million into renovating the former JCPenney headquarters building to include amenities such as a gym and day care facilities.
Overall, this venture marks an exciting opportunity for growth in Plano’s business district thanks to its prime location within Legacy Business Park.
