Chevron has announced plans to invest $66.5 million in renovating floors 31 to 39 of its Houston tower. The project, covering a total of 214,479 square feet, will be designed by Gensler and is expected to begin in late 2024 with completion targeted for late summer of the following year.
This renovation is part of Chevron’s larger modernization effort for their tower at 1500 Louisiana St., which was previously occupied by Enron before being purchased by Chevron in 2004. With approximately7,000 employees already based in the Houston area and more on the way as employees are relocated from San Ramon, California headquarters.
In addition to this office renovation project, Chevron also recently acquired a plot of land spanning over77 acres within The Woodlands-based Howard Hughes Corp.’s Bridgeland master-planned community near Cypress last year. This purchase will allow them to develop a new research and development campus; however further details about this campus or construction timeline have not yet been disclosed.
