Central Health has announced plans to invest $150 million in a state-of-the-art clinic located near Airport Blvd. and I-35 at the Hancock Center in San Antonio. The new Central Health Hancock Clinic will be housed in a former Sears department store, spanning three floors and totaling 196,000 square feet of clinical and administrative space.
According to reports from Community Impact, the project is estimated to cost $150 million.
The ground floor of the clinic will offer specialized care services through Central Health Specialty Care and Community Care Primary Care programs, including dental services. This level will also feature imaging facilities, laboratory services, and an on-site pharmacy.
The remaining floors – one above ground level and one below – will serve as administrative headquarters for Central Health along with its clinical service partner CommUnityCare and nonprofit health insurance partner Sendero. The lower level will also include meeting rooms for board meetings as well as public functions hosted by both organizations.
Renovations are currently underway with an expected completion date set for spring 2027.
