"Plano Hospital's $76M Expansion Project Gains Momentum"

Medical City Plano is undergoing a significant expansion, with plans to invest $76 million into the project. This will involve adding four additional floors to the existing tower, including 60 new medical and surgical patient rooms. Additionally, two floors will be reserved for future patient rooms. In total, an impressive 131,700 square feet of space will be added to its C Tower.

Currently licensed for 603 inpatient beds and seeing nearly 50,000 emergency room visits annually,Medical City Plano recognizes the need for more space in order to alleviate congestion in their ER department. As a Level I Trauma Center providing top-level care for seriously injured patients,the hospital is committed to expanding its facilities.

The expansion project has an estimated completion date of April2026.This timeline includes making more room available specificallyforthe burn ICU , trauma ICU,and oncology floors.Additionally,thePlano Economic Development Department reports that Medical City Plano employs approximately1 ,300 staff membersand boasts around1 ,000 physicians serving patients at this facility .
