Two additional office-to-residential conversion proposals have advanced to the next stage of review as part of the “LaSalle Street Reimagined” initiative, bringing the total number of projects to five. Celadon Partners and Blackwood Group are proposing 247 apartments within 105 W. Adams St., while Golub & Co. and American General Life Insurance propose 349 apartments within 30 N. LaSalle St..
Mayor Lori Lightfoot commented on these developments: “As LaSalle Street continues its transformation into one of Midwest’s most distinguished corridors, these conversions demonstrate our city’s commitment to innovative projects that will benefit Chicagoans economically.”
The five re-use proposals could bring nearly $1 billion in investments if approved by the Community Development Commission and City Council, making it one of America’s largest office-to-affordable residential conversion efforts yet announced by a municipality according to Mayor Lightfoot’s administration.
