"Abilene Data Center: JV Building with 1 Million Square Feet"

Blue Owl Capital, a leading investment firm, has announced plans for a $3.4 billion joint-venture to support the development of data center capacity at the Lancium Clean Campus in Abilene, Texas. This partnership will be between Blue Owl’s Real Estate platform and Primary Digital Infrastructure.

The project will involve sponsoring Crusoe’s 206 MW data center which spans over 998,000 square feet and is set to be designed, built and operated by Crusoe itself. The funding for this venture is fully secured through a forward takeout agreement.

This state-of-the-art facility known as the Crusoe AI data center will consist of two buildings specifically tailored to meet the needs of its Fortune 100 hyperscale tenant who has already signed on for long-term occupancy starting in 2025. The design will prioritize direct-to-chip liquid cooling while also accommodating air cooling methods. Upon completion, it will have an integrated network fabric capable of supporting up to 100,000 GPUs.

Crusoe aims to deliver over 200 MW capacity by the year 2025 with projections showing that this project alone could contribute close to $1 billion towards boosting Abilene’s economy within just two decades from now.
