Bauman Rare Books, an antiquarian book company, is expanding its presence in New York City with a new street-level gallery at 485 Madison Ave. The space will span 3,500 square feet on the ground and second floors of the building owned by Jack Resnick & Sons.
Founded in 1973 by Natalie and David Bauman, Bauman Rare Books has been a fixture in NYC since opening its first Midtown location in 1989 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. According to Jonathan Resnick, president of Jack Resnick & Sons, they are excited to welcome this renowned bookseller as their newest tenant under a ten-year lease agreement.
The deal was facilitated by Adam Rappaport and Brett Greenberg from Jack Resnick & Sons’ internal team while Andrew Goldberg and Christopher Heyn from CBRE represented Bauman Rare Books. This lease brings the retail component of 485 Madison to full occupancy with other tenants including menswear brand Hive & Colony, Swiss shoemaker Le Majordome,and Fresco by Scotto Restaurant which has been located there since1993.
