"Massive $1B Data Center to be Built in Atlanta Region, Covering 2M Square Feet"

Strategic Real Estate Partners has announced plans for a massive data center in Palmetto, Georgia. Spanning 320 acres of land at 300 Johnson Circle in Coweta County, the project is expected to cover over 2.1 million square feet and cost $1 billion. The development, known as Project Peach, will consist of eight data center buildings and is projected to be completed by 2036 after a build-out period of approximately fifteen years. It is estimated that the project will generate $3 million in tax revenue.

Located just four miles from Microsoft’s existing Azure data center campus worth $500 million, Project Peach will further enhance the region’s growing capacity for data centers which has already increased by an impressive 76% since the start of this year alone. This puts it on track to become second only to northern Virginia as one of the top locations for future development.

While state lawmakers had initially expressed concerns about potential environmental impacts such as energy and water usage associated with these facilities and even passed legislation aimed at slowing down their growth, Governor Brian Kemp ultimately vetoed this bill allowing Project Peach to move forward without any restrictions or delays.

Overall, this Atlanta-area data center represents a significant investment that promises not only economic benefits but also technological advancements within its community.
