J.B. Hunt Transport has acquired a 34-acre parcel of land located at 8329 Old Dowd Road near the Charlotte airport for $10.75 million from Strategic Real Estate Partners. According to reports from the Charlotte Business Journal, there are plans in place for Strategic to potentially develop a 260,000-square-foot industrial building on the site.
At the time of sale, the land was still undeveloped and sits directly west of Charlotte Douglas International Airport near Interstate 485. It is also adjacent to SunPoint CLT, an industrial building spanning over 373,950 square feet that was recently completed by SunCap Property Group.
Founded in 1961 and currently employing nearly38,000 individuals worldwide,J.B.Hunt Transport is a Fortune300 company with annual revenue exceeding $12.8 billion.
The airport itself is undergoing significant renovations as part of its Destination CLT project which involves a capital investment totaling $3.5 billion.This overhaul will impact various areas includingthe lobby,the terminal,and even therunway.
