The redevelopment of Mall West End is set to begin, as the City of Atlanta and a team of developers have joined forces. BRP Companies and The Prusik Group will lead the project, which aims to transform the 12-acre site into a mixed-use development. This acquisition marks an important first step in the overall $450 million plan for this property.
To fund this ambitious project, Atlanta Urban Development has provided a $5 million acquisition loan while another $5 million has been contributed by Atlanta Beltline, Inc. Additionally, Merchants Capital has offered up $19 million in acquisition financing.
Construction on Mall West End’s transformation is scheduled to commence in 2025 with phase one expected to be completed by 2026. The current plans include:
– A total retail space of 125,000 square feet featuring various amenities such as a grocery store, fitness center and local boutiques.
– A mix of affordable housing options including 900 rental units with workforce housing making up 70%, followed by affordable units at both50% AMI (20%)and80% AMI (10%).
– At least10 ,000 square feetof commercial space will be reserved for small businesses that meet certain qualifications.
– Student-focused accommodations.
– A planned hotel consistingof150 rooms .
-A medical office space spanning over12 ,000 square feet .
This exciting redevelopment project at Mall West End is now officially underway thanks to these efforts from all parties involved.
