"Christy George Named as Intersect Illinois' New CEO"

Christy George has been appointed as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Intersect Illinois. She brings a wealth of experience to her role, having previously served as the Executive Director for Chicago’s 2024 Host Committee for the Democratic National Convention.

In her new position, George will utilize her extensive background in leading economic development initiatives, including her time as Governor JB Pritzker’s First Assistant Deputy Governor for Budget & Economy. Her goal is to build upon Intersect Illinois’ current success and further establish the state as a top destination for business growth.

Prior to joining the Governor’s Office, George held various positions within local government such as Executive Director of the Illinois Commerce Commission and roles at City of Chicago departments including Deputy Budget Director for Public Safety, Assistant Commissioner at Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection, and Assistant Corporation Counsel in Department of Law. She will officially assume this new role in November.
