"Dartmouth College Launches $500M Housing Initiative"

Dartmouth College is making a significant investment in its campus housing with the launch of a $500 million program. This represents the largest housing investment by an Ivy League school in decades. President Sian Leah Beilock has committed to adding 1,000 beds for students, faculty, and staff over the next decade.

Thanks to a generous donation of $30 million from alumni Thomas A. Russo ’77 and Gina T. Russo ’77, Dartmouth has received its largest gift ever for undergraduate housing. In recognition of their contribution, one of the new apartment-style residence halls being built on West Wheelock Street will be named after them – Russo Hall.

Russo Hall is just one part of Dartmouth’s plan to construct several apartment-style residence halls near both the central campus and West End district over the next few years. The Russos’ donation marks the beginning of a fundraising campaign that aims to raise $165 million towards these new residences – which will be Dartmouth’s first in more than two decades.
