"Former Headquarters of Miami Herald Sold for $30 Million"

The former headquarters of The Miami Herald has been sold for $29.9 million to Panattoni Development Co by a partnership consisting of Parmenter Realty Partners, Cudlob Capital, and Prime Finance. The sale was facilitated by Wayne Ramoski, Mark Gilbert, and Miguel Alcivar from Cushman & Wakefield.

According to the South Florida Business Journal, the property was last purchased in 2021 for $27.25 million and is set to be redeveloped into a spec industrial project. Currently occupied by Learning World Academy as its main tenant, the building boasts features such as a full backup generator and hurricane-resistant construction capable of withstanding Category 5 storms.

Built in 1997 in Doral as a two-story office building originally serving as U.S Southern Command’s headquarters before being acquired by The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald in 2013. However due to the Covid-19 pandemic causing staff members to work remotely,the newspapers have since vacated their offices at this location.
