Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has announced a partnership with UNLV and Birtcher Development to establish Nevada Studios as the centerpiece of their film studio tax credit legislative proposal. This long-term commitment includes leasing, operating, and fully occupying the studios located at UNLV’s Harry Reid Research & Technology Park in Las Vegas.
As part of this agreement, Nevada Studios will be renamed Warner Bros. Studios Nevada and will offer comprehensive services for film and television production. WBD has committed to investing at least $8.5 billion in long-term production spending if the project is approved.
One key aspect of this partnership is the creation of the Nevada Media and Technology Lab, which will serve as a state-of-the-art production facility for immersive learning experiences for students in UNLV’s film department as well as other academic departments within the university.
This exciting collaboration between Warner Bros., UNLV, and Birtcher Development aims to boost economic growth through job creation while also providing valuable resources for education in media arts at one of Las Vegas’ premier research institutions.
