The development of 1400 Long Beach, a new affordable housing community, has officially begun thanks to the joint efforts of Los Angeles-based Meta Housing Corporation and the Foundation for Affordable Housing. This project is strategically located just minutes away from Downtown Long Beach and conveniently situated near public transportation. According to Taylor Rasmussen, VP and director of development at Meta Housing, this community will provide housing for low- and moderate-income families who earn between 30% to 70% of the area median income.
Rasmussen emphasized that their main objective is not only to offer high-quality housing options but also ensure that it seamlessly blends in with the existing neighborhood. This groundbreaking marks their sixth successful collaboration with the City of Long Beach as they continue their commitment towards creating affordable homes for its residents.
To complete this project by 2026, Meta Housing has partnered with various organizations such as California Housing Finance Agency, Bank of America,CenturyHousing Corporation, and government agencies like California Tax Credit Allocation CommitteeandCalifornia Debt Limit Allocation Committee.
