Chevron Corporation has announced that it will be relocating its headquarters from California to Houston, Texas, following in the footsteps of Exxon who made a similar move just over a year ago. This decision was made by Chevron Chairman and CEO Mike Wirth and Vice Chairman Mark Nelson in order to co-locate with other senior leaders and enhance collaboration with executives, employees, and business partners.
While this relocation will have minimal immediate impacts on employees currently based in San Ramon, all corporate functions are expected to transition to Houston within the next five years. However, positions supporting Chevron’s operations in California will remain stationed in San Ramon.
