McGregor Selected as $210M Plant Site for Semiconductor Industry Supplier

EFC Gases & Advanced Materials, a leading chemical supplier to the semiconductor industry, has announced plans to invest $210 million in a new plant located approximately 90 miles north of Austin. The state-of-the-art facility will be built in McGregor, strategically situated between Austin and DFW. With numerous semiconductor manufacturers already established in the area – including Samsung’s $17 billion plant in Taylor and Texas Instruments’ massive facility being constructed in Sherman – EFC will have ample options for partnerships.

The company is set to occupy 195 acres of land and is expected to generate at least 120 new jobs. According to reports from the Austin Business Journal, EFC’s manufacturing site will include an administrative building, logistics hub, central laboratory and chemical synthesis operations. In addition to serving the semiconductor industry, EFC also caters towards aerospace clients.

Located within McGregor Industrial Park – home of prominent companies such as Elon Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp (see photo) – this new venture marks another exciting chapter for both EFC Gases & Advanced Materials and Central Texas’ thriving business landscape.
