North DeKalb Mall Conversion: Updates and Progress

Construction has commenced on the transformation of North DeKalb Mall into a vibrant, mixed-use district by retail developer Edens. The 73-acre property will be renamed Lulah Hills and offer a walkable community experience.

The redevelopment project includes the addition of 1,700 apartments, 100 townhomes, and over 320,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. In total, the development will span an impressive 2.5 million square feet at its prime location near Decatur at the intersection of North Druid Hills Road and Lawrenceville Highway.

Edens acquired North DeKalb Mall for $43 million in September of this year with plans to revitalize it into a modern destination for residents and visitors alike. The rezoning process was completed in summer 2022 by the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners to accommodate Edens’ vision for Lulah Hills. Additionally, the project received $70 million in tax incentives from the DeKalb Development Authority.

This exciting conversion is currently underway without any mention or affiliation to “Connect” or “Connect CRE,” “Connect LA,” or “Connect Texas.”
