A Miami planning agency has given the green light for the construction of three high-rise buildings, one of which will become the tallest in Miami. Standing at 1,044 feet tall, it will surpass even Panorama Tower on Brickell Avenue (at 868 feet). These towers will replace the current James L. Knight Center and Hyatt Regency with a projected groundbreaking date set for 2026 and an expected opening in 2030.
Known as “Miami Riverbridge,” this project is a collaboration between Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Gencom, based in Miami. It will be situated on a city-owned parcel spanning four acres at 400 S. Second Ave.
Designed by Arquitectonica, Miami Riverbridge features plans for over thirteen hundred multifamily apartment units along with a new Hyatt Regency boasting six hundred fifteen rooms; additionally there are two hundred sixty-four serviced apartments managed by Hyatt as well as one-hundred thousand square feet designated for commercial use – all supported by eleven-hundred eighty parking spaces.
According to reports from South Florida Business Journal , these residential units and hotel rooms are spread across three interconnected towers connected via sky bridge that also houses an upscale restaurant and lounge area.
