"Approval Granted: Tallest Highrise in Miami"

A Miami planning agency has approved the construction of three high-rise buildings, one of which will become the tallest in the city. The tallest tower is set to reach a height of 1,044 feet, surpassing even the current record holder, Panorama Tower on Brickell Avenue at 868 feet. These new developments will replace both the James L. Knight Center and Hyatt Regency with a projected groundbreaking date in 2026 and an expected opening in 2030.

Known as Miami Riverbridge, this project is a collaboration between Hyatt Hotels Corp. and local company Gencom on a four-acre parcel owned by the city at 400 S. Second Ave.

Designed by Arquitectonica, Miami Riverbridge will feature luxurious amenities including 1,342 multifamily apartment units along with a new Hyatt Regency hotel boasting an additional 615 rooms and another building housing serviced apartments managed by Hyatt totaling to about264 units . In addition to these residential spaces , there will be approximately100 ,000 square feet dedicated for commercial use as well as ample parking space for up to1 ,180 vehicles . According to reports from South Florida Business Journal,the towers are connected through sky bridges that also house an upscale restaurant and lounge area.
