Toyota Invests $531M in New San Antonio Facility

Toyota is expanding its presence in San Antonio, Texas with a significant investment of $531 million. This expansion will bring over 400 new jobs to the city and includes the construction of a 500,000-square-foot facility dedicated to producing drivetrain parts.

The announcement comes after approval from the San Antonio City Council for an incentives package that offers a 65% tax abatement worth nearly $15 million. As part of this package, some property taxes from the new facility will be reinvested into public infrastructure surrounding the plant.

Currently employing 3,700 direct employees and supporting an additional 5,600 jobs through on-site suppliers, Toyota’s Texas plant is home to production for both Tundra trucks and all-hybrid Sequoia SUVs on one assembly line. In total last year alone, over 181
