"DeKalb County Approves Transit Mixed-Use Plan for Sustainable Development"

The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners has approved the rezoning of land surrounding the Indian Creek station, which is located off Durham Road and adjacent to Interstate 285. This decision will pave the way for a dense redevelopment of the 64-acre site.

Included in this plan is a 20,000-square-foot grocery store, a community center spanning another 20,000 square feet, as well as over 1,600 apartments and approximately 300,000 square feet of office space. Additionally there will be food and beverage options covering an area measuring around two-and-a-half thousand square feet. Four acres have been allocated for parks and green spaces while plans also include construction on a bus transfer facility measuring approximately forty-five thousand square feet.

This proposal forms part of MARTA’s larger strategy to increase ridership by placing people within close proximity to transit hubs. The agency typically offers developers ground leases in order to generate additional revenue while retaining control over what developments are built around its stations.

MARTA intends to release an official request for proposals later this year with regards identifying potential development partners for phase one of this project.

DeKalb County’s Board Of Commissioners has given their approval on rezoning land surrounding Indian Creek Station – situated at Durham Road near Interstate-285 – making it possible for extensive redevelopment across its sprawling sixty-four acre plot.

The ambitious plan includes several key features such as: A twenty-thousand sq.ft grocery store; An equally sized community centre; Over sixteen-hundred residential units; Three-lakh sq.ft office space; Two-point-five-thousand sq.ft food & beverage outlets spread out across four acres worth parks & greenery along with forty-five-thousand-sq-ft bus terminal facilities too!

This move comes under MARTA’s grand scheme aimed at boosting footfalls by ensuring that commuters have easy access from their doorstep right up till they reach public transport terminals! In fact MARTA prefers leasing out land to developers in order to generate additional revenue while retaining control over what developments take shape around its stations.

MARTA has announced that it will be releasing an official request for proposals later this year, inviting potential development partners for phase one of this project.
