Investcorp Partners with Sovereign Funds for Second Industrial Venture

Investcorp, along with two prominent sovereign wealth funds, has launched a new venture focused on acquiring industrial real estate assets throughout the United States. This latest venture builds upon the success and strategy of their initial partnership established in November 2021. With a combined commitment of over $1 billion in equity over the past two-and-a-half years, these SWFs and Investcorp are well-positioned to expand their investments in this asset class.

According to Herb Myers, co-head of real estate for Investcorp’s U.S. division, “The fundamentals of the U.S. industrial sector remain strong and we see attractive opportunities to further grow our presence within this market.” He also noted that factors such as e-commerce growth, nearshoring trends, and government spending continue to drive demand for last-mile facilities located near major population centers.

This new venture will focus specifically on last-mile properties which have proven resilient against supply chain disruptions impacting larger warehouses. Currently holding $5.1 billion worth of industrial real estate across 43 million square feet in the U.S., Investcorp is poised to significantly increase its market presence through this partnership with sovereign funds.
