Tishman Speyer has announced the opening of Barberino’s, an Italian hair and skincare boutique, at 520 Madison Avenue in New York City’s Plaza District. This marks the brand’s first location in the United States. The 753-square-foot retail space features three barber chairs and offers a range of services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and more. With 18 existing shops in Italy and a successful international debut last year with their Seoul location, Barberino’s is now expanding to serve American customers.
Leading real estate firms Schuster Group Inc.’s Scott Schuster and AM-PS’ Lucas Kooyman worked together to secure this prime spot for Barberino’s U.S. flagship store. Tishman Speyer was represented by Alissa Bersin and Reed Zukerman from their own retail leasing team during negotiations.
According to Lucas Kooyman of AM-PS: “The heart of Plaza District is where we found the perfect home for our client – with high-end co-tenancy options available as well as an ideal demographic that aligns perfectly with our upscale line of products.” Other notable retailers within this tower include Sephora , Rhone Apparel , Reiss ,and birddogs .
