"Completion of $88M Brighton Senior Housing Project"

2Life Communities, in collaboration with the City of Boston and the Boston Housing Authority, recently celebrated the completion of J.J. Carroll House at 130 Chestnut Hill Ave in Brighton, MA. This redevelopment project transformed 64 public housing units into 142 modern and energy-efficient apartments for older adults and individuals with disabilities. The development includes a mix of deeply affordable units supported by Section 8 vouchers and affordable units through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.

According to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, securing federal funding is crucial for increasing our housing supply and making it easier to build similar projects like this one in Massachusetts. She emphasizes that continued partnership between federal, state, local governments along with private investments is essential to meet our housing needs.

The $88.3 million project received funding from various organizations such as the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing & Livable Communities and MassHousing – showcasing a collaborative effort towards improving accessibility within public housing.
