The ADA Forsyth Institute (AFI) has announced its relocation to Somerville, MA in January 2025. The institute has signed a 15-year lease for a spacious 76,000 square-foot facility located at 100 Chestnut St. This move comes after the successful merger of the Forsyth Institute and the American Dental Association Science and Research Institute.
According to Wenyuan Shi, PhD, CEO of AFI, “Our commitment to accelerating oral health discovery and innovation drove our decision to relocate.” He further added that they were looking for a facility that could support their work effectively. The new building surpasses their expectations with state-of-the-art labs designed by Gensler – currently ranked as the number one science and technology architecture firm globally. This strategic move positions AFI well for significant growth in the coming years.
Situated within one of Massachusetts’ Opportunity Zones, this facility aligns perfectly with AFI’s goal of accelerating oral health discovery. With plans to double its research capacity within five years, this relocation marks an important milestone in AFI’s journey towards achieving sustainable growth.
