Plano Fry's Site Decision: Coming Soon

For years, Bay West Development has been working on an ambitious plan to convert a former big box store into a mixed-use project. On May 1, they will find out if their proposal is approved by the Plano Planning and Zoning Commission. The proposed development includes 501 apartment units, 33 townhomes and 70,000 square feet of commercial use with office space and a 100-key hotel. The empty Fry’s store currently occupying the land measures 172,800 square feet in total.

Bay West was previously denied another request in 2021 for 833 apartments spread across two five-story buildings; an eight-story hotel with 100 rooms; as well as a six story office building measuring 123 600 square feet in size. Now they await the decision from Plano’s planning commission to see if this new proposal will be accepted or not – stay tuned!
